Ring sizing
Venera sizes run 9 to 19. Every size is shown with its US equivalent, because the numbers are not interchangeable.
Read the size twice
Venera uses East Asian sizing, which is the standard in the region. A Venera 12 is a US 6. A US 12 is a men's size, roughly three sizes larger than a Venera 12.
That is why we never print a bare number anywhere on this site. Every size is written as 12 (US 6) — ours first, the US equivalent in brackets — on the size selector, in your cart, at checkout and on the order. If you think in US sizes, read the bracket.

Sizes 12 to 14 cover the most requested range. Conversion charts are close matches rather than guarantees, so if you are between two figures on a foreign chart, use the millimetre columns.
Measuring a ring she already wears
This is the most reliable method, and it works without asking. Take a ring she wears on the finger the engagement ring is for. Fingers on the two hands differ, so the finger matters.
- Lay the ring flat and measure straight across the inside, from inner edge to inner edge, at the widest point. That is the inside diameter.
- Measure in millimetres. A ruler with a millimetre scale is enough.
- Match your figure to the diameter column above. If it falls between two rows, take the larger.
Alternative, if you can measure the finger itself: wrap a strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, lay it flat and measure to the mark in millimetres. That is the circumference. Match it to the circumference column.
Do not use string. It stretches, and it will usually give you a size too small.
When to measure
Finger size moves through the day by up to half a size, and heat moves it further. In this climate that is worth planning around.
- Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest.
- Do not measure straight after coming in from the heat, after exercise, or after a long stretch in strong air conditioning. Wait until hands are at a normal temperature.
- If the knuckle is noticeably larger than the base of the finger, size for the knuckle. A ring that will not pass it cannot be worn.
Rules worth following
- Bands 6 mm or wider fit more tightly. For a wide band, go up one size.
- Between sizes, always go up. A loose ring resizes down cheaply. One that will not pass the knuckle cannot be worn.
- A ring that already fits beats any conversion. Measure the ring if you can get hold of one.
If you do not know the size
Common, and not a problem. Choose I'm not sure in the size selector and this is what happens:
- We make the ring in 12 (US 6), the most requested size.
- One resize is free within 1 month of delivery.
Engraved rings can be resized, but they cannot be returned. That is the one case where the size is worth settling before you order.
Every setting we make can be resized, so the design will not stand in your way.
Still unsure? Book an appointment and we will size the finger properly, in the showroom or over a video call.
